HINGA

HINGA (BREATHE) is a ritual performance film and time capsule honoring the sacred grief, life force, and resiliency of the Filipinx community in the Bay Area during COVID-19. Directed by interdisciplinary artist and choreographer SAMMAY with the prayerful poetry of Amihan - this is a community ritual for healing, release, and dreaming for the future we are ushering in. The film honors the spirit of Amado Khaya (Beloved Home) whose legacy truly transcends the limitations of time, materiality, and geographical borders.
